today i'm going to write about the Haiti earthquake! I came across this article while i was doing my geography homework,i became interested in the earthquake and decided to do a quick search on it.

It happen on 5:14 p.m. on Jan. 12, 2010 a magnitude of 7.0 struck southern Haiti. The earthquake's power matched that of several nuclear bombs,about 70000 bodies had already been buried in mass graves since last Tuesday and recently the government official said the death toll may exceed 100 000! Thousands of injured people waited for care outside damaged hospitals, while there's still unknown number people remained trapped inside collapsed buildings. People were digging though leveled buildings with their hands looking for survivors or bodies. About 3 million people were affected by the quake,about 10 million people most likely felt shaking from the earthquake and it also left 300000 homless. Many countries had send help. Australian news crews put aside their day jobs to rescue an 18 month old baby after hearing her cries. There is not only a shortage of medication,,but also staff. 280 emergency centers have been set up to distribute aid and provide shelter.Hollywood stars and top musicians like Julia Roberts,Taylor Swift,Julia Roberts,Chris Rock,Coldplay,Taylor Lautner,Justin Timberlake,Leonardo di Caprio and many more led a huge fund-raising drive for Haiti live on global television, pleading for funds to help the devastate nation.

Through this we can see that we,humans, are nevertheless helpful and caring,no matter what racial we are in,we will help each other. This is certainly let me did some reflection... We never know when we would face any nature disaster,so we must always cherish one another while we can!
